What is the working title of my book?

GRAVITY RISING

Where did the idea for your book come from?

Over Christmas 2016, I met this boisterous, selfish girl with weird powers in a dream after watching “The Force Awakens.” While the character has changed, Ettrix is my biggest muse to date, and she’s shown me the world of GRAVITY RISING piece by piece. I feel like we’ve built the world together.

What genre is your work in progress?

What began as an epic science fiction adult romance is now a young adult sci-fi with a minimal romantic subplot. This series also embraces adventure, urban fantasy, and slight dystopia; however, I consider none of these to be subgenres, really.

Choose the actors for your movie rendition.

Ettrix Greeble

Demi Lovato circa “Stone Cold”

Demi Lovato’s looks are quite similar to how I picture Ettrix. In GRAVITY RISING, she has long straight black hair. Demi Lovato is unintentionally inspiration for Ettrix. They’re a little similar in the struggles they face as teenagers – in a very vague way.

Arum Harke

Riz Ahmed

Riz Ahmed is a bit older than Arum (18-20), but he really looks the part. He’s my dream Arum Harke. Arum was initially inspired by a different Star Wars character, Riz really inspired me to redefine Arum more than just his skin tone. Riz’s acting range would really do well with a proto-human type man in my opinion.

Elouie Greeble

Lily Collins

Lily Collins has the darker red hair Elle has, the beauty people adore her for, and the look of innocence required for Elle, who is immensely misunderstood and unexpected. Lily Collins’ acting history really proves to be exactly what I think Elouie is as a human being and as a woman.

Kaivon Sungus

Kim Hyun Joong

Kim Hyun Joong is an interesting man. His acting career proves he has the emotional range needed for Kaivon. As a character, Kaivon enjoys playing around a bit. He’s very easygoing and gets along with most everyone. He rarely hold a passionate opinion about anything, though. When he does, this becomes something he obsesses over this thing. This actor has the looks and charm Kaivon has!

Paxma Agwyn

Simona Brown

While I’m not familiar with the actress, Simona is the perfect candidate for this character in terms of looks, build, and age. Pax is a very tragic character – arguably having one of the most emotional backstory. I’m sure this answer will change the more I fantasize this question, but for right now, Simona embodies everything physically Pax.

Fallon Crowle

Lucky Blue Smith

Oh, Lucky Blue Smith. He’s a model (fitting because Fallon’s the only purposely “hot” male character in this cast). His blond hair and bright blues really embrace the vision of who Fallon is. He nurtures his good looks and makes no apologies for admiring himself – though not in the mirror. Those are scarce in the wastelands. This is the only person I’m completely discrediting the whole “actor” bit for. He just is Fallon for me. Fallon is quite inspired by James Dean. You see the correlation, right? Need I say more?

Jyma Blankardt

Ashley Graham
 photo demi_zpsuzrgcovb.gif

Jyma’s character is based on ancient Grecian beauty standards. I’m captivated by this period, and I love Aphrodite. Combine all of this together, and you have Jyma! She’s not slender nor muscular. She’s symmetrical and curvy. She falls somewhere between a size 10-14. She’s hyper sexual, confident in her appearance, threatened by very little, and is my most powerful character (though she can’t control it very well). Her ethnicity is a bit of a question mark upon first glance. Ashley Graham (what little I know abut her) really fits the bill for her physically!

Edge “Mick” Mickimony

Henry Simmons
 photo demi_zpsuzrgcovb.gif

Aside from the lack of hair, Henry Simmons is Mick for me. Mick is powered with super strength and other physical abilities. He’s the true lone wolf of this pack. He’s silent, articulate, and patient. Watching “Agents of SHIELD” exposed me to Henry Simmons, and I instantly knew he was my Mick. Just picture longer dreadlocks and there you go! Mick is muscular, but he lacks excess. He’s a very simple man who only wants to help other Freqs escape the wastelands’ worst individuals who seek to kill them. He’s a creature of routine. I’m not ashamed to admit “AoS” was my inspiration.

One sentence synopsis of your book.

An outcast technophile hijacks a ship to explore a world thought inhabitable for over a millennia, but a forgotten world enshrouded in danger and anguish ensnares her down a dark path of torture and chaos.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Self-published!

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Still writing it, so…

What other books would you compare the story to?

This series could be compared with select elements from The 100 Series by Kass Morgan, Harry Potter by J.k. Rowling, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, & Hamlet by William Shakespeare.

Who or what inspired you to write the book?

As I’ve mentioned, Ettrix found me one night. She’s graciously taken me on a joy ride in her world ever since December 2016.

What else about your book might peak the reader’s interest?

Don’t tell anyone, but there’s a nuclear circus owned by one of my favorite side characters with a horrific backstory. This circus will be featured quite a lot in the series (at least this is planned).

For those who hate love triangles, I’m proud to shout from every rooftop that there will be no major love triangle!

After watching “Roswell” a few months ago, I knew I had to put in an alien invasion! This predates the start of the first book, but it’s heavily explored in the entire series.
